Temple Sharey Tefilo-Israel Invites Public to Learn about Israeli Society, Celebrate Tu B’Shevat with Young Families in January

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J., December 22, 2017 – Temple Sharey Tefilo-Israel (TSTI), the Reform synagogue in South Orange, invites the wider community to the following free events in January:

  • Thurs., Jan. 4 – Michael Levi, the community shaliach (liaison) from the Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest will present “Israel as a Melting Pot” at 7:00 p.m. Levi will discuss how Israeli society has become so diverse, dynamic, and challenged, leading attendees through a dialogue about Israel’s transition from total melting pot to a multicultural country. To register go to
  • Fri. , Jan. 26 — Families with young children are invited to TSTI’s Young Family Tu B’shevat Celebration and Dinner at 5:00 p.m. This program, about the New Year of the Trees, is for children from preschool through second grade. The special evening will include a fun Tu B’shevat activity while learning about the environment. Everyone is welcome to stay for TSTI’s Shabbat service at 6:00. A pizza dinner will be served; gluten-free and dairy-free options are available upon advance request. Register to attend at
