FAIR LAWN, N.J., Aug. 28, 2015 – ShopRite of Fair Lawn, an Inserra Supermarkets store, is hosting a full roster of health and wellness events throughout September, which is Cholesterol Education Month. The store’s registered dietitian, Dana Gaule, R.D., will lead each of the LiveRight offerings and provide easy-to-implement nutrition and wellness advice. All programs are free, open to the public, held at ShopRite of Fair Lawn and do not require advance registration, unless otherwise noted:

Wed., Sept. 2 – Build a Better Breakfast with New Gluten-Free Cheerios, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Did you know that several varieties of General Mills Cheerios are now gluten-free? Stop by the Dietitian’s Corner for a sample and some quick and easy recipe ideas for the most important meal of the day.

Thurs., Sept. 3 – Back to School Snacking Featuring Mary’s Gone Crackers, 4 – 6 p.m.  Looking to make snack time more nutritious this school year? Drop by the Dietitian’s Corner for samples of healthy snacks by Mary’s Gone Crackers.

Thurs., Sept. 10 – Produce Pick: Fresh Figs, 4 – 6 p.m. Summer may be coming to a close, but fresh produce is still in season. ShopRite’s in-store dietitian will be mixing fresh figs into a delicious new dish. Be sure to stop by for a sample and recipe ideas.

Fri., Sept. 11 – High Fiber Friday: Celebrate National Rice Month, 12 – 2 p.m. During National Rice Month, ShopRite’s registered dietitian will be highlighting flavorful recipes using this staple grain and discussing the many varieties of rice available at ShopRite.

Mon., Sept. 14 – Celebrate National Family Meals Month with Rotisserie Chicken, 4 – 6 p.m. National Family Meals Month is a movement to raise awareness of the benefits of frequent family meals. Drop by the Food Court for samples and simple, nutritious recipe ideas for rotisserie chicken and start enjoying more time with the family at the dinner table this September.

Thurs., Sept. 17 – Free Vein Health Screening, 4 – 7 p.m. The Center for Vein Restoration will be providing free vascular ultrasound screenings and educational materials regarding vein health. Don’t miss out on this great opportunity to gain key knowledge of your health.

Sat., Sept. 19 – Free Cholesterol Screening, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Knowing your numbers is a great step toward preventing and controlling heart disease. Stop by the Dietitian’s Corner for a free cholesterol screening and try samples of the heart healthy grain freekeh by Freekehlicious.

Tues., Sept. 22 – Build a Better Lunchbox with Arnold’s Healthfull Bread, 5 – 7 p.m. With school back in full swing, ShopRite’s in-store dietitian will feature “lightened up” sandwich recipes using Arnold’s Healthfull Bread.

Wed., Sept. 23 – LiveRight with ShopRite Kids Day, 5 – 6 p.m. Please note space is limited, and pre-registration is required. Bring in the youngsters to create and try new things. Participants will prepare a simple, healthy snack and take home a recipe and other fun activities during this family-friendly event.

Mon., Sept. 28 – Go Nuts (And Seeds!) for Heart Health Featuring Walnuts and Mary’s Gone Crackers. Nuts and seeds are rich in heart healthy fats. Stop by the Dietitian’s Corner to try a sample of a recipe featuring walnuts and whole grain crackers.

Tues., Sept. 29 – Heart Healthy Store Tour, 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. Please note space is limited, and pre-registration is required. Join ShopRite’s registered dietitian to walk the aisles and learn about reading food labels and selecting heart-healthy products.
