NEWARK, N.J., August 29, 2017 – The Robert Treat Hotel in downtown Newark was the site of the third annual Legislative and Business Luncheon on Tuesday, August 8, 2017, sponsored by the North Jersey Jewish Business Alliance (NJJBA). Approximately 150 people—members of NJJBA, political figures and area business leaders—heard from Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno, the Republican nominee for New Jersey governor and former Gov. Richard Codey, who represented Democratic candidate Phil Murphy.

Assemblyman Nicholas Chiaravalloti (center left) was honored with an Excellence in Leadership award, in recognition of his support of the organization and his commitment to New Jersey businesses.

Miles Berger (6th from left), board chair of the NJJBA, provided welcoming remarks and spoke briefly about the work of the Union City-based organization; NJJBA brings together Jewish business owners and corporate leaders from throughout North Jersey for networking, provides connections to local political representatives, and addresses questions of interest to the business community.

Berger is also the CEO of Berger Organization, the diversified real estate development company, based in Newark, which owns the Robert Treat Hotel among other Newark hospitality and office properties. The hotel, located at 50 Park Place on historic Military Park is a popular venue for local charitable and business events as well as social occasions.
