Cushman & Wakefield Brokers HQ Lease Renewal for U.S. Shipping
Edison, N.J., Property's Responsive Owner, Accessibility Secure Long-Term Deal

EDISON, N.J., Feb. 2, 2010 - U.S. Shipping Partners L.P. has renewed its 13,000-square-foot headquarters lease at 399 Thornall St. in Edison, announced Cushman & Wakefield, Inc. Sean Brady of Cushman & Wakefield's East Rutherford, N.J., office, represented the long-haul marine transportation services provider in negotiating the recommitment.

Brady initially brokered U.S. Shipping's lease at the M. Alfieri Company office tower in 2003, and orchestrated an expansion just months later. He credits the latest, long-term transaction to the property's responsive ownership.

"We looked at relocation options in the surrounding area and south to Piscataway," Brady noted. "However, U.S. Shipping always has been pleased with Alfieri's responsiveness as a landlord. When it came time to discuss the renewal, the company was extremely accommodating."

U.S. Shipping Partners provides services principally for refined petroleum products.  The company, which employs approximatelyover 300 professionals at its Edison office, around the globe, also is a leading provider of coastwise transportation of petrochemical and commodity chemical products. Twelve vessels, including chemical parcel tankers, a product tanker and articulated tug barge units comprise its current fleet.

The 330,000-square-foot, 14-story 399 Thornall Street is located within Metropark Corporate Campus. "This property offers proximity to New Jersey's ports, airports, rail system and major thoroughfares," Brady said. "This accessibility is critical for U.S. Shipping's continued success there."
