Restaurant-Quality Meals are a Healthy and Affordable Alternative to Takeout

PARK RIDGE, N.J., August 14, 2015 – The thought of someone spending hours in the kitchen so the whole family can enjoy healthy and nutritious meals is not realistic for many busy households today. No longer reserved for the rich and famous, personal chefs have become an increasingly common – and cost-effective – alternative to traditional takeout and restaurant dining.

“It’s a common misconception that personal chefs are only for the wealthy,” said William Stevens, owner/operator of Chef on Demand, Bergen County’s premier personal chef service. “In reality, this service is extremely attainable and benefits a range of consumers including working couples, busy families, senior citizens, caregivers, people with special dietary needs or restrictions, or those who simply don’t like or know how to cook.”

Among Chef on Demand’s current clients is a busy family in Upper Saddle River that began using the service about four years ago. “I have three children and what’s great about Chef on Demand is Chef Stevens’ ability to customize meals to each of my children’s food likes and dislikes,” the client said. “On any given day our family could be running in three or four different directions. It’s wonderful to come home and just heat up our dinners. More importantly, I know that everything my family eats is made from fresh, healthy ingredients.”

Personal chefs like Stevens come to clients’ homes on a regular basis to plan, prepare and pre-package customized meals that only require reheating. Chef on Demand also provides a number of additional conveniences for clients. For example, Stevens handles customers’ weekly food shopping, is available to cater barbecues and small dinner parties, and conducts in-home cooking classes.

“When you consider the time and stress associated with weekly grocery shopping, meal planning, cooking and kitchen cleanup – as well as the expense of takeout and restaurant dining – this is an option that really makes sense for many people today. Services like ours afford clients the convenience of dining in their own home with ready-made gourmet entrees and snacks tailored to each family member’s dietary requests and preferences.”

Chef on Demand’s menu items are born from the creative mind of Stevens, a classically trained chef with more than 19 years of culinary experience. The service is available seven days a week to residents throughout Bergen County. During a free initial consultation, Stevens determines each customer’s food likes and dislikes, and identifies any food allergies or special dietary requests. Detailed reheating instructions are provided with each meal, and customers can choose from daily, weekly, bi-weekly or monthly plan options.
