  • Caryl Bixon-Gordon

    Caryl Bixon-Gordon, President, founded Caryl Communications Inc., which has grown since the early 1980s from a single-person operation to one of New Jersey’s leading public relations agencies. Prior to forming Caryl Communications Inc., Caryl held a variety of corporate positions including Public Relations Director of Midlantic Bank and Associate Editor of the employee publication for Marsh & McLennan Companies, Inc. She was named among the top 50 Best Business Women of 2006.

    Under her direction, Caryl Communications has earned a respected reputation for the responsiveness and quality of its services, the talents of its team and the depth of expertise provided to clients in all facets of public relations and marketing. Caryl personally supervises each account, directing account managers, writers and account coordinators. She attends regularly scheduled strategic planning meetings with clients and is available for consulting as needed.

    A graduate of William Paterson University (WPU) with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, Caryl is also a certified teacher and has taught public relations at the WPU School of Continuing Education. In addition, she has completed courses at The New School in Manhattan.

  • Bob Gordon
    Chief Financial Officer

    Bob Gordon, Chief Financial Officer, joined Caryl Communications Inc. in 1986. A New Jersey-licensed real estate broker, he worked for five years in the residential and commercial real estate industries. He also spent two decades as a professional guitarist and private teacher. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from William Paterson University, attended the Berklee College of Music in Boston, and has successfully completed advanced courses in Microsoft® Office programs at New Horizons Computer Learning Center of New Jersey. Bob oversees all the company’s finance and operations as well as expansion strategies, human resources, benefits programs, purchasing and information technologies.

  • Evelyn Weiss Francisco
    Vice President and
    Director of
    Client Services

    Evelyn Weiss Francisco, Vice President and Director of Client Services, joined Caryl Communications Inc. in 2000 after three years in the publishing industry, where she interacted with top-level retailers and book distributors around the country. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from William Paterson University and is a recipient of a business award from the Berkeley College of Business. In addition, she has completed numerous seminars and communications courses.

    Evelyn was appointed to her current position in 2014 and oversees client service, quality control and account management. She is also responsible for managing the company’s internal media database, news placement, and supervision of account coordinators and writers.

    Karen Ravensbergen
    Assistant Vice President, Director of Internal Resources

    Karen Ravensbergen, Assistant Vice President and Director of Internal Resources, joined the Caryl Communications team in 2014. She brings significant public relations, communications and management experience to this role, having held a variety of leadership positions at Cairns & Associates and Marina Maher Communications, two Manhattan-based PR firms. At Caryl Communications, Karen’s responsibilities include directing PR initiatives for clients in commercial real estate and related industries. She also develops and implements internal communication strategies and systems to support account growth and new services.

    Karen brings the unique experience of having spent seven years at US Army Garrison Wiesbaden in Germany. While there, she worked in the Department of Defense Dependent Schools and was honored with the Presidential Volunteer Service Award. Karen graduated magna cum laude from the Fashion Institute of Technology with a degree in marketing communications.

    • Sandy Crisafulli
      Writer and Media Specialist

      Sandra Crisafulli has nearly 25 years of both agency and client public relations experience and also worked as a journalist. Prior to her current role at Caryl Communications Inc., she served as Vice President for the firm in the mid-1990s. With a foundation in journalism, Sandy is proficient in all facets of print and online media, including copywriting and editing, reporting, and production. She has been involved in several award-winning marketing and public relations campaigns, and has specific expertise writing for the commercial and residential real estate, higher education, and technology industries. Sandy graduated summa cum laude from the University of Hartford, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication.

    • Lori Crowell

      A veteran journalist and media professional, Lori Crowell has more than 20 years of experience in print/online media, marketing and public relations. For 18 years, she was an Editor and Writer in the Marketing Department of The Star-Ledger where she produced the weekly real estate sections along with other advertising-generated editorial content. She also has led a successful freelance career writing human interest, real estate and business stories for clients that include NJ Advance Media, real estate firms, non-profit organizations and local news websites. Lori attended William Paterson University and joined the Caryl Communications writing team in 2011, working primarily with the company’s real estate, accounting, senior housing and non-profit clients.

    • Mary Dickey
      Writer and Media Specialist

      Mary Dickey is an award-winning writer and marketing communications expert, who joined the Caryl Communications team in 2013. She has vast experience in all facets of public relations and marketing campaigns, including social media, web, video and print, bringing strategic thinking and creativity to each project.

      At Caryl, Mary focuses on content strategy, blogs and social media for the company as well as for a variety of clients, including those in the commercial real estate, technology and non-profit sectors. Previously, she held leadership positions at Odyssey Networks, Mar-Tech Inc and HBO. Mary earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in English Language/Letters from Duquesne University and her Master of Arts degree in Journalism from New York University.

    • Allison Friedman
      Social Media Manager

      Allison Friedman is a digital communications specialist who has been actively immersed in social media since 2004. In 2017, Allison joined Caryl Communications Inc. as a social media manager. Drawing on her broad expertise in multi-media marketing, public relations and communications, Allison develops and implements digital marketing strategies for a range of clients, staying current on new technologies, trends and applications to drive visibility. Allison holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Visual Arts Degree from Rutgers University’s Mason Gross School for the Arts.

    • Donna Gould
      Account Manager and Writer

      Donna Gould is a seasoned account manager in both the corporate and non-profit sectors. She joined Caryl Communications Inc. in 2013, bringing with her more than 25 years of experience in developing and implementing integrated communications strategies for clients in a range of industries, including financial services, real estate, health and wellness, beauty and lifestyle. An exceptional writer with a disciplined marketing focus, Donna creates content for a full range of communication outlets including promotion materials, newsletters, email marketing campaigns, social media and the web. Previously, she served as Senior Director of Communications for YWCA Bergen County and Communications Director for MAXUS Global. Donna holds a BFA from Syracuse University and teaches public relations at the Fashion Institute of Technology.

      Rebecca Gramuglia
      Account Coordinator

      Rebecca Gramuglia joined Caryl Communications in July of 2016 as Account Coordinator.  At Caryl, her responsibilities include account support for clients in a range of industries, including commercial real estate, law and financial services as well as the nonprofit sector. Prior to joining Caryl Communications, Rebecca was a writer with Fashion 360 Magazine, where she covered multiple New York Fashion Week shows and Kids Fashion Week events, among others. Previously, she served as a communications intern with iHeartMedia and also was a public relations and social media intern with EILEEN FISHER. Rebecca graduated magna cum laude from Seton Hall University with her Bachelor of Arts degree in public relations.

    • Dora Johnson
      Writer and Media Specialist

      As a professional writer for more than 30 years, Dora Johnson possesses vast experience in magazine, newspaper and business writing. She joined the Caryl Communications writing team in 2005. Dora is the author of countless articles in local, national and trade publications with a focus on the real estate industry. She has served as the Founding Editor of Northeast-New England Real Estate News, Associate Editor of Business Facilities magazine and Contributing Editor to Real Estate New Jersey magazine. In addition, Dora served as Community Relations Coordinator for the Matawan-Aberdeen Regional School District in Matawan, N.J. She received her Master of Arts degree in corporate and public communication from Monmouth University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism from the University of Maryland.

    • Elizabeth Masters
      Account Coordinator

      Elizabeth Masters joined the Caryl Communications team in September of 2015 as an intern and was named an Account Coordinator in May of 2016. At Caryl, she provides client service support for a number of clients, primarily in the commercial and residential real estate industries. Possessing advanced social media skills, Elizabeth serves as a key resource to the company in the digital arena.

      She graduated from Ramapo College in May of 2016 with her Bachelor of Arts degree in communications arts, concentrating on global communications and media.

    • Jamie Platt
      Executive Assistant

      In January of 2017, Jamie Platt joined Caryl Communications as an executive assistant, handling a wide array of responsibilities. Those often include managing the media database, coordinating press releases, advisories and eblasts for clients and the company as well as numerous other special projects. Prior to joining Caryl, Jamie served as the fund development assistant and the executive assistant to the CEO at the YWCA Bergen County. Jamie earned her Bachelor of Science degree in environmental policy, institutions, behavior and environmental health from Rutgers University in 2014 and is currently pursuing her Masters in Landscape Architecture at the Rutgers University Graduate School.

    • Ellen Seaver
      Writer and Account Manager

      Ellen Seaver has a strong background in journalism. She was a reporter for Bergen County Newspapers, Inc., which formerly published a number of local weekly papers, including The Village Gazette of Ridgewood, The Wyckoff News and The Franklin Lakes Journal. In addition, she worked in a variety of roles in the recruiting and training departments of McKinsey & Company, a global management-consulting firm. A graduate of Gettysburg College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, Ellen also has completed courses at New York University’s School of Continuing Education. In 2004, she joined Caryl Communications Inc. and serves as a Writer and Account Manager. Ellen has extensive PR experience in numerous industries, including commercial real estate, real estate investment and finance, and senior housing as well as in the non-profit sector.

    • Caryn Starr-Gates

      Caryn Starr-Gates has decades of experience as a copywriter for advertising agencies, working in print and broadcast. She began writing for Caryl Communications Inc. in 2007. Her experience includes writing retail fashion copy for regional and national department stores and promoting the launch of CNN as well as print ads, TV and radio spots, and new product concepts for a diverse array of consumer packaged goods, banks, ABC Television and Turner Broadcasting. In recent years, Caryn has written extensively in the public relations and marketing realms for a broad range of accounts, including senior housing, education, food service, religious organizations, financial, retail, IT and professional services accounts. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from Emory University.

    • Irene Zampetoulas
      Account Coordinator

      Irene Zampetoulas brings a unique combination of business experience and education to her role as Account Coordinator at Caryl Communications. Before joining Caryl in July of 2017, Irene worked as an e-commerce category manager at, an artificial intelligence trainer at X.AI and an intern at 360 Degrees PR and Fox News. She believes in the value of serving her community having dedicated her time and energy on numerous political campaigns, including the re-election campaign of State Senator Robert M. Gordon and Rabbi Shmuley Boteach’s 2012 bid for Congress. Graduating at the top of her class, Irene earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Science at Ramapo College and her Master of Public Administration at Rutgers University. At Caryl, Irene provides account service support to clients in a variety of industries, including commercial real estate, environmental consulting, and law, among others.

    • Christine Ziomek
      Special Projects Manager

      Christine Ziomek, Special Projects Manager, has been with Caryl Communications Inc. since 2001. She has served in a number of leadership roles at the firm, including Account Supervisor, and has expertise in managing clients across a variety of industries. Those range from senior housing and real estate to technology and law. In addition, she has deep experience managing clients in the not-for-profit sector.

      Christine earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications from the University of Scranton, where she was a member of the National Communications Honors Society, the Public Relations Student Society and was selected to participate in the Public Relations Student Society of America’s prestigious Bateman Case Study Competition. Prior to joining Caryl Communications, Christine served as the Assistant to the Director of Public Relations at Boscov’s Department Store in Scranton, Pa.
