Modern 60,000 SF Store Part of Respected Inserra Supermarkets Chain

WALLINGTON, N.J., Apr. 17, 2015 – ShopRite of Wallington, a new Inserra Supermarkets store, is scheduled to open its doors in May, announced Larry Inserra, Jr., chairman and CEO of the family-opened supermarket chain. The modern 60,000-square-foot supermarket will feature ShopRite from Home, free nutrition and wellness programming, full-service catering, a pharmacy and a liquor store. The store is located in the Wallington Plaza Shopping Center at 375 Paterson Avenue in Wallington.

“Building this new, modern store enables us to further bring our standard of quality and service to the residents of Wallington, Passaic and the neighboring areas,” said Inserra. In addition to ShopRite of Wallington, Mahwah-based Inserra Supermarkets owns and operates 22ShopRite stores in New Jersey and New York. “We appreciate our customers’ patience as we work to complete the Wallington store, and look forward to welcoming them this spring.”

Store Will Feature Extensive Nutrition and Wellness Programming

ShopRite of Wallington will have a registered dietitian on its staff, serving as a free wellness and nutrition resource to customers on a daily basis. In addition, the dietitian will lead the store’s LiveRight calendar of events, which will feature healthy food and meal preparation tips for people of all ages.

Established in 1954 by Patsy Inserra as a privately held family business, Inserra Supermarkets remains true to its roots as a family-owned grocery chain committed to serving families and children. In 1980, under the entrepreneurial guidance of the late Lawrence Inserra, the company grew to eight stores and experienced a banner year in 1981, growing to 14 stores. Today, the company owns and operates ShopRite supermarkets in Bayonne, Emerson, Fair Lawn, Hackensack, Hillsdale, Hoboken, Jersey City, Lodi, Lyndhurst, New Milford, Northvale, North Bergen, Palisades Park,  Ramsey, Wayne and West Milford in New Jersey and in Rockland County, N.Y., in Garnerville, New City, Stony Point, Tallman and West Nyack, as well as a PriceRite store in Garfield.

Inserra Supermarkets is widely acknowledged as a good corporate citizen dedicated to making life better for local residents. One recent activity includes ShopRite Partners in Caring, which challenges associates to band together to raise awareness and funds to alleviate hunger in their local communities. The company also supports the Community Food Bank of New Jersey and Table to Table, the first food rescue program serving Northern New Jersey.
