Bedminster, N.J., Retail Property Also Sees Tenant Expansion and New Opening

BEDMINSTER, N.J., Mar. 4, 2015 – 18/8 Fine Men's Salons, a California-based, full-service men's grooming concept, has leased 2,300 square feet of space at The Hills Village Center in Bedminster. The commitment marks the chain's second New Jersey location and its first in Somerset County, according to Levin Management, exclusive leasing and managing agent for the 110,000-square-foot shopping center.

Levin's leasing representative Marcia Minton negotiated the long-term lease. Alison Cohen of BKR Retail served as the tenant's broker in the transaction.

Based in Irvine, California, 18/8 Fine Men's Salons has reinvented the traditional barbershop experience by providing "men's only" hair and grooming services in a modern, salon-style environment. The expanding franchise focuses on personal care and grooming with a full menu of premium services including haircuts and styling, straight-edge hot lather shaves, facials, scalp treatments, waxing, nail treatments, coloring services and more.

"18/8 Fine Men's Salons sought a heavily trafficked, highly visible shopping center in an affluent location to accommodate its expansion into the Garden State," said Minton. "The Hills Village Center provides a perfect fit. 18/8 Fine Men's Salons upscale yet moderately priced services are geared exclusively towards helping men look and feel their best.  We are excited to bring 18/8's unique concept to those who live and work in the Bedminster community this summer."

Additionally, We R Wireless – a Verizon Wireless authorized dealer with more than 100 locations in nine states – has relocated within The Hills Village Center and expanded from 1,000 square feet to 2,400 square feet. Brighter Dental, which leased space at the property in 2014, will soon celebrate its grand opening.

These tenants complement a diverse mix of national, regional and local tenants at The Hills Village Center, including a 36,000-square-foot Kings Supermarket, Starbucks, Peapack-Gladstone Bank, McGrath's Hardware, Great Clips, Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa, Cold Stone Creamery, Hills Vision Center, Panchero's, Cherrybrook Pet Supplies, PNC Bank, GNC, Subway, Yamataro Japanese restaurant and Somerset Valley Urgent Care, as well as typical neighborhood conveniences such as a dry cleaner, pizzeria and Chinese restaurant.

Current space availabilities at The Hills Village Center include two retail units of 1,000 and 3,000 square feet, as well as second-floor office space. 

The Hills Village Center is located on Route 202/206 just off Route 287 in "The Hills," one of New Jersey's largest and most successful master-planned communities. The center is the retail component of the 5,200-unit residential development and serves a growing population of more than 58,000 people within a five-mile radius. The marketplace offers an average household income of more than $169,000 and the daily traffic count exceeds 19,200 vehicles on Route 202/206.
