Bridge Lessons, Art Appreciation and Horticulture Class Are Highlights of Winter Activities at Senior Living Campus

ALLENDALE, N.J., Jan. 6, 2015 – The Atrium Assisted Living at The Allendale Community for Senior Living will kick off the New Year with a variety of events for residents and guests including a horticulture class, bridge lessons and art appreciation, among others, throughout the month of January. The following events are free and open to the public:

  • Wed., Jan. 7, 14, 21, 28: It's never too late to learn how to play bridge. Beginner lessons for seniors are offered on consecutive Wednesdays throughout the month of January at 2 p.m. in the Card Room.
  • Fri., Jan. 9, 16, 23, 30: Start the weekend off with Happy Hour and music by Donna Stalker on the piano, every Friday in January at 3:30 p.m. in the Atrium Lounge.
  • Sun., Jan. 11, 18, 25: Eat, drink and be merry! Enjoy Happy Hour with music by performer Pete Visalli each Sunday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. in the Atrium Lounge.
  • Tues., Jan 20: Plant in time for spring blooms. Learn how to plant Amaryllis bulbs with the activities staff in a horticulture class at 2 p.m. in the Activities Room.
  • Thurs., Jan. 22: Enjoy a special show and tell presentation as The Allendale Community's Mary Stampleman discusses the "History of Antique Pearl Buttons," at 2 p.m. in the Activities Room.
  • Tues., Jan. 27: Learn all about art. Come and partake in "Art Appreciation with Darby" at 11 a.m. in the Activities Room.
