IBS Releases New Cloud-Based Property Management/Accounting System
Imperium Powered by Acumatica Leverages Four-Decade Development History

TOTOWA, N.J., Feb. 1, 2016 – Integrated Business Systems (IBS) today released Version 1.0 of its new, cloud-based property management/accounting system. Imperium Powered by Acumatica pairs IBS’s four-decade development history with Acumatica’s technologically advanced delivery platform.

IBS launched its legacy property management and accounting product in 1979, and the system has evolved based on changing customer needs and commensurate with technological advances. Today, more than 75 prominent New York/New Jersey area commercial and residential real estate owners and operators use the IBS legacy system, which is recognized for its functionality and audit-ability.

“We partnered with Acumatica, a leading provider of cloud enterprise resource planning software, to take IBS forward in a way that will help existing and new clients embrace an increasingly mobile and interconnected world,” said Michael Mullin, IBS president. “Together we have distilled the most important functions of our legacy system into Imperium Version 1.0. In short, we have created an attractive upgrade path for our current customers, and a powerful solution for new clients.”

The first Imperium Powered by Acumatica release focuses on the multifamily space. It addresses the full range of tasks associated with operating rental apartments, condo and co-op boards, and homeowners’ associations. The software also integrates with third-party products across multiple real estate services categories, including popular tenant screening, residential portal and utility billing applications. The system is scalable and customizable for private and public enterprises of any size, from just a few users to hundreds of operators.

Imperium Powered by Acumatica Version 2.0 – to be released this spring – will add commercial functionality for office, industrial and retail. “Imperium ultimately will meet every real estate management and accounting need,” noted IBS’s Stephen Hirsch, the senior consultant who spearheaded the Imperium development. “From start to finish, this new product has been designed to help real estate organizations increase operational efficiency and improve the bottom line.”

Imperium is built on Acumatica’s Cloud xRP Framework, an extensible and scalable development platform. The resulting custom-designed product extends the power of Acumatica’s cloud ERP product with an industry-specific solution to address the requirements of residential and commercial real estate owners and managers. “In essence, we built the IBS product into Acumatica’s core accounting system,” Mullin explained. “This will allow our clients to leverage the cloud as it is meant to be leveraged now and in the future. These are the tools that will drive technology for years to come. Because Imperium has the Acumatica engine behind it, it is well positioned to become a go-to choice.”

The product will also be sold as an Acumatica add-on by the firm’s network of resellers. “The combination of IBS’s deep industry knowledge and our platform have resulted in a cutting-edge solution for the real estate industry,” said Christian Lindberg, vice president of partner solutions at Acumatica. “We are excited to extend our vertical reach with this new offering.”

In addition to the Acumatica development partnership, IBS also serves as a reseller for the company’s general accounting system.
