TEANECK, N.J., March 3, 2010 - Heritage Pointe of Teaneck, a full-service rental retirement community, will host a panel discussion entitled Are You Prepared? on Sunday, March 21 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. The free program, which focuses on important measures to consider for optimal financial, emotional and physical well-being during retirement years, is open to the public. Retirees, adults who are nearing retirement and their families are invited to attend. Light refreshments will be served.

Are You Prepared? will be facilitated by Paul "Chip" Murray, CFP, of AXA Advisors in Fort Lee, N.J.; the panelists are all service providers who work with older adults in many facets of life planning. "Families that rely on a trusted team of advisors to help them plan-before an emergency situation arises-experience a greater quality of life than those who do not," explained Murray.

Panelists include: Michael Manna, Esq., a Ridgewood, N.J.-based elder law attorney, who will talk about the value of a professionally drawn will, financial power of attorney and living wills; Kenneth Traficante, CFP, JD, a financial and estate planning specialist from AXA Advisors in New York City, N.Y., who will speak about wealth and risk management strategies appropriate for seniors and their families to consider; Lloyd Wilky of Extended Family in Denville, N.J., a wellness support and concierge service agency, who will highlight prevention programs for older adults designed to maximize physical and mental well-being; and business performance coach Margaret Maclay of FocalPoint Coaching in Edgewater, N.J., who will talk about how to organize, prioritize and implement a plan of action.

"These experts will provide information everyone can use proactively to become well prepared and ensure a smoother road ahead in the retirement years," said Donna Zayat, executive director of Heritage Pointe.
