TEANECK, N.J., Feb. 3, 2010 - Fredrick P. Neimann, Esq., an elder law attorney, and professionals from Homecare Assistance will present an informative seminar titled "The Hidden Secrets of VA Benefits," on Wed., Feb. 17, with lunch and registration beginning at 12:30 p.m. The event, being held at Heritage Pointe of Teaneck from 1 to 3 p.m., is free and open to area social workers and healthcare professionals. Professionals with the following licenses will receive two Continuing Education Unit (CEU) credit hours for attending: LNHA, CALA, LSW, LCSW and CSW.

The course objectives are for participants to be able to identify clients who may benefit from the VA pension; calculate pension awards based on income, medical expenses, care needs and marital status; and recognize the potential conflicts with the VA pension and other assistance programs such as Medicaid. Certificates will be distributed at the end of the program.
