Visit is a Highlight of Year-Long Celebration of School’s Founding

RAMSEY, N.J., May 28, 2015 – More than 500 students and faculty from Don Bosco Prep recently traveled to the Marian Shrine at Stony Point, N.Y., for a centennial/bicentennial pilgrimage. The school is celebrating its founding in 1915 and the bicentennial of the birth of St. John Bosco, who established the Society of St. Francis of Sales (Salesians). The Salesians founded and serve as administrators of Don Bosco Prep.

The visit began with an outdoor mass celebrated by Bishop Dominick Lagonegro of the Archdiocese of New York. The students also listened to stories about the life of St. John Bosco before touring Becchi House, a recreation of his home in Turin, Italy, and engaging in outdoor activities.

Don Bosco Prep is a private, Catholic, college preparatory high school for young men, grades 9 through 12. The school offers rigorous academics at the AP, honors and college preparatory levels and provides broad offerings in extracurricular activities, clubs and athletics.
