BRIDGEWATER, N.J., Apr. 19, 2016 – Commercial real estate services firm Cushman & Wakefield has completed a 61,642-square-foot, 13-year office lease on behalf of the law firm of Norris McLaughlin & Marcus at 400 Crossing Boulevard in Bridgewater. The East Rutherford-based Cushman & Wakefield team of Robert Rudin, Vice Chairman-Director of Consulting; Marc Trevisan, Executive Vice President; and David DeMatteis, Director, represented the tenant.

The property, owned by Piedmont Office Realty Trust, was represented in the transaction by Bill McCaffrey of Avison Young. Piedmont acquired the property in 2006 and had previously acquired the adjacent 200 Crossing Boulevard in 2003.

“With this lease, Norris McLaughlin has relocated from a nearby site,” said DeMatteis. “The firm wanted to be closer to the Bridgewater Commons Mall and other amenities, and in a better-class building. We looked at a number of buildings, but the firm also wanted to stay in the immediate area because that’s its home market.”

“This was a unique deal,” said Rudin.“We were able to identify a high-end pharmaceutical executive office build-out with a lease expiration several years in the future and co-terminus with the Norris lease for their one-and-a-half-floor occupancy.”

“Due to the quality of the development as well as the recent upgrades made by Piedmont at Bridgewater Crossings, it is widely regarded as one of the best office complexes in the state,” said DeMatteis.

Located in Central New Jersey’s Somerset County, 400 Crossing Boulevard is an eight-story, approximately 300,000-square-foot trophy-quality office building. Constructed in 2002, it is situated just off I-287, with close proximity to U.S. Route 22 and other highways, and adjoins a hotel and Bridgewater Commons Mall. On-site amenities include a high-end, full-service cafeteria, a workout facility, a conference center, and covered parking.
