Leadership Program for Executives from State-Owned Financial Consortium Includes Presentation on U.S. Hedge Funds

NEW YORK, N.Y., Oct. 5, 2017 – Edmund Hannon, Chief Operating Officer of Castle Lanterra Properties (CLP), presented a discussion on enhanced operational due diligence for alternative investment managers to a group of top executives from China Everbright Group, a state-owned financial consortium with interests in banking, insurance, asset management and private equity investment. The presentation took place at the Faculty House at Columbia University during the group’s recent visit to the U.S. as part of an executive development program.

“This was a unique opportunity to use my combined experience in both the hedge fund and commercial real estate industries to discuss fund operations and risk controls in the U.S. market,” said Hannon, who addressed the heads of multiple business units operating under the Everbright Group umbrella. The executives took part in a program at The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania before making the trip to Manhattan.

Over the course of his more than 30-year investment career, Hannon has developed a deep understanding of operational best practices. Prior to joining CLP’s leadership team earlier this year, he held positions as head of Risk Management for Royal Bank of Canada’s Alternative Assets Group and Global Head of Hedge Fund Manager Selection for Merrill Lynch’s $20 billion hedge fund platform.
