PARAMUS , N.J., May 31, 2012 – Caryl Bixon-Gordon, president of Caryl Communications, Inc., has been named a top woman entrepreneur and business owner finalist in New Jersey by Own It Ventures, and New Jersey Monthly Magazine.

The special recognition commends leading women in business for their service, leadership and contribution to their communities and the state’s economic recovery, according to Own It Ventures. Finalists will be judged for their innovation, community involvement, market potential, and advocacy for women. A gala reception will honor the winners on December 6.

“It is an honor to be nominated and recognized along with the many dedicated women entrepreneurs in the state,” said Bixon-Gordon. “At Caryl Communications, we are passionate about the advancement of women in the workforce, which is synonymous with Own It Ventures’ mission.”

Founded in 1980, the award-winning public relations and marketing firm has grown consistently. Today, the company offers media relations, content, email and Internet marketing, events, social media and internal communications programs. “I am very excited about the 2012 initiative in partnership with New Jersey Monthly Magazine that honors women business owners because women are the forerunners to the economic recovery of our state,” stated Linda Wellbrock, Founder of Leading Women Entrepreneurs. “Over the last twenty years, women have surpassed men at twice the rate for starting their own companies. Our joint project presents phenomenal exposure for their efforts and the issue that finalists are listed in will reach over 750,000 households.”
