Offerings are Free and Open to the Public

NORTHVALE, N.J., March 31, 2015 – ShopRite of Northvale, an Inserra Supermarkets store, is hosting a full roster of free health and wellness programming throughout April. Samantha Pappas, R.D., in-store registered dietitian, will lead each of the LiveRight offerings and provide easy-to-implement nutrition and wellness advice. All programs are open to the public, held at ShopRite of Northvale and do not require advance registration, unless otherwise noted:

Wed., April 1 – Happy Whole Grains Day, 4 – 7 p.m. Visit the Dietitian’s Corner to learn about the vast health benefits of ancient grains and pick up tasty recipe ideas too.

Fri., April 3 & 10 – High Fiber Friday, 12 – 2 p.m. Stop by the Dietitian’s Corner to get tips on meeting fiber requirements in a delicious way every day.

Tues., April 7 – Produce Pick, 1 – 3 p.m. Drop by the Dietitian’s Corner for samples and recipes as ShopRite’s registered dietitian mixes up this week’s produce pick into a sure-to-please new dish.

Sun., April 12 – Relay for Life Info Desk, 12 – 4 p.m. Stop in the store to learn about supporting the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life 2015 events, and pick up some healthy snacks and recipes too.

Mon., April 13 – Be KIND. Eat KIND. 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Interested in a chance to win an all expenses paid trip to the Cayman Islands? Visit the store to enter the drawing and sample KIND products as well.

Mon., April 13 – Blood Glucose Screening, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Join us for a Free Blood Glucose Screening provided by Hackensack UMC at Pascack Valley.

Wed., April 15– Adult Culinary Workshop, 6 – 8 p.m. Please note space is limited, and pre-registration at the Courtesy Counter is required. Join ShopRite’s in-store culinary chef and registered dietitian in creating a healthy, delicious meal. This month’s “Earth to Table” –themed menu features roasted broccoli-lentil salad, caramelized pineapple with cabernet chocolate sauce, and a green salad with dressing variations. The cost is $20 per person.

Wed., April 22 – Kids’ Culinary Workshop, 5 – 7 p.m. Please note space is limited, and pre-registration at the Courtesy Counter is required. Youngsters will help ShopRite’s in-store culinary chef and dietitian in creating a flavorful, nutritious meal. This month’s “April Showers” -themed menu features rainbow vegetable kabobs, chicken strips with raspberry mustard and rainy day cereal bars. The cost is $10 per person.

Sat., April 25 – Northern Valley Earth Fair, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Interested in learning more about going green and/or eating clean? Visit Stone Point Park in Old Tappan to find out and enjoy a day of family- and eco-friendly activities. Two of ShopRite’s registered dietitians will be on-site. Sun., April 26 – Relay for Life 2015 Cooking Classes, 12 – 1 p.m. and 3 – 4 p.m. Please note space is limited, and pre-registration at the Courtesy Counter is required. Join in one of these fun-filled cooking classes for a worthy cause! The cost is $10 per person and 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life 2015.
